Groupon Refurbished Phone Grading Definitions

A cell phone does not need to be brand-new to be fully functional. In fact, you can usually get a refurbished model for a lower price without sacrificing any of the functionality you or your family needs. But it’s important to understand the phone condition so that you know what to expect when you open the package. To help you find the phone that matches your needs and budget, Groupon uses the following phone grading definitions for its inventory:

• All our iPhones are fully functional, so this grading is only related to external aspect and battery life
• Unlocked
• With 3 month Minimum warranty
• Updated to the latest iOs relevant for the device version
• Purchasing a refurb phone contributes to avoid technological waste, ("eco-friendly decision")

Premium CPO

CPO means Certified Pre Owned which is the highest grading of refurb and most phones will appear as new. If they have been used they will be tested and certified by Apple or approved third-party refurbish partner according to four criteria: 1) functionality 2) cleaning 3) inspection 4) repackaging.

Premium

Premium is our highest grading out of certified pre owned. Aesthetically the product is flawless with battery life close to full capacity.

Superior

Superior refurbished grade mobile phones are almost “as new”, but contain some micro markings which will not be perceived when the phone is turned on.

Very Good

Very good refurbished mobile phones may have minor markings

Good

Good is the lowest grading Groupon offer, this grade is checked for quality, wiped of data and repackaged but may contain some visible wear and tear (no cracks or dents) and if specified the home button will only be used for password and not finger print protection.
