About Woodville Walled Garden
Woodville Walled Garden is a historical, eighteenth century garden, surrounded by stone walls. It consists of 1.5 acres that contain herbaceous borders, fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a rose garden and a serene water fountain. The place also houses an original, surviving dovecote which is one of the few remaining "Garden Follies" in the West of Ireland, and is now home to a family of white fantail doves. Visitors can also learn about the history of the restored walled kitchen garden in its museum that displays old photographs, receipts and vintage farm machinery, as well as outlines the fascinating connection to Lady Augusta Gregory at Woodville.
