About Oakfield Park
Oakfield Park is the 18th-century Georgian deanery, which has won multiple awards for the restoration of its gardens, parklands and buildings. First-time visitors to Donegal as well as more seasoned explorers discovering the Wild Atlantic Way can take in the scenic views of parks, woods, lakes and formal gardens. A 4.5km narrow gauge railway allows visitors to explore the estate as the train passes through flower meadows, woodlands, willow tunnels, oak circles, boardwalks, heritage trees, a wooden causeway and sparkling streams and lakes. For those tired after the day of rambling around the parklands, Buffers Garden Restaurant serves up a vast array of homemade goodies, light bites and meals prepared using produce from the park’s gardens.
