Plantain leaf contains iridoids whose main component is aucuboside: aucuboside has antibacterial and cough suppressant properties used to treat broncho-pulmonary ailments. Its mucilages may have a soothing and emollient effect and facilitate expectoration. In addition, thanks to its composition, plantain can also have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy properties. It is, therefore, a precious ally in all allergic respiratory symptoms and on the inflammatory component of bronchitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis.

Blackcurrant leaf may have anti-allergenic properties: it may reduce the consumption of anti-histamines and corticosteroids in the treatment of allergies. Blackcurrant leaves contain flavonoids (rutosides) that may have an adrenal stimulant effect. They are commonly used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, hayfever, allergic asthma or urticaria.
